Mayor Extends Pool and Splash Pad Hours as Temps Rise

Mayor Extends Pool and Splash Pad Hours as Temps Rise

BUFFALO–Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced extended hours for pools and splash pads throughout Buffalo, as the city experiences a heat wave this week.

“With temperatures expected to be in the low to mid-90s in the next few days, we want to provide more hours for kids and families to beat the heat by cooling off at one of the city’s pools or splash pads,” said Mayor Brown.

All pools and splash pads will be open from 11:00a.m.–8:00p.m. today, and 10:00a.m.–8:00p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Pool and splash pad facilities will be equipped with lifeguards and standard security measures.

“During this extremely hot weather, I encourage Buffalo residents to look out for one another, especially elderly neighbors and friends,” said Mayor Brown. “It is important that we stay in cool places during these hot days. We also must remember to keep our pets hydrated and out of the heat.”
