Parkside Association’s Halloween Party a Safe Place to Trick-or-Treat

PARKSIDE, BUFFALO, NY -- Come all ye goblins, ghosts and ghouls to the Annual Parkside Community Association's Children's Halloween Party on Sunday, October 31 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, at the corner of Jewett Parkway and Summit Avenue in Buffalo.

 The Halloween party offers a safe alternative to "Trick or Treating" for youngsters throughout the city. There will be some freaky fun, creepy candy, and ghoulish games at this ghostly gala! The event is free for children up to 12 years old with a parent or guardian.

Alpacas to Visit the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market

Coming to the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market on Saturday, October 16: Wine-tasting courtesy of Freedom Run, and a visit from the Alpaca Play Pen! Market hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Don’t miss it!

And, don’t forget to pick up some fresh and delicious apple cider, and maybe even a Halloween pumpkin or two!

Holiday Dinner Dance Featuring Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band to Benefit Pet Connection

Tickets are now available for a Holiday Concert/Dinner Dance featuring Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band that will take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at the Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pet Connection Programs Inc., a special care shelter for dogs and cats located in Marilla.

Apples, pumpkins ... fall is definitely in the air at the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market! And, come out this Saturday, October 9, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for wine-tasting courtesy of Niagara Landing Wine Cellar. Buffalo Carshare will be there too to explain their unique service.

Veterans: Write Your Story

Our writers group is open to veterans of all conflicts. We listen, talk and write about our experiences because no one else can tell our story. Convert your thoughts and experiences into a memoir or short story. 

We meet on Mondays from 1:30 to 3:30 PM in room 422-B at the VA Western NY located at 3495 Bailey Av., Buffalo, NY 14215.

Scheduled meetings are: Oct 18; Oct 25; Nov 1; Nov 12 (Special Friday meeting with ClaudeAnShin Thomas as guest speaker); Nov 15; Dec 6 and Dec 20th.
