Pulitzer Prize-Winning Historian on Red Jacket, Six Nations, War of 1812

Taylor to give lecture entitled: "Red Jacket and the Role of the Six Nations in the War of 1812"

Dr. Alan S. Taylor, a renowned and award-winning author and historian, will be at the History Museum Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 1:30 p.m., to speak on a subject near and dear to our city and region.

His lecture, "Red Jacket and the Role of the Six Nations in the War of 1812," is particularly apropos for the region and the museum now. Local interest is mounting with even more than the usual fervor as we ramp up for the 2012 bicentennial of the War of 1812. In addition, the museum currently has an exciting and in-depth exhibit exploring Red Jacket in the context of John Mix Stanley's monumental painting "The Trial of Red Jacket."
