Walsh Insurance Group Donates $50,000 to the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy

On Saturday, October 23rd, over 100 employees from the Walsh Insurance Group donated their time to plant 150 trees and dozens of flower bulbs along the ring road in Delaware Park.  These new trees and their maintenance will be paid for by a generous donation of $50,000 from the Walsh Insurance Group and their subsidiaries.

Coming to the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market on Saturday, October 30: A visit from the Massachusetts Avenue Project and the GrowWNY Bicycle Fender Blender ... and maybe even a few Halloween surprises!

Dog Days of Buffalo Hosts "Dachtoberfest" on Saturday, October 16th, 2010

On Saturday, October 16th, Dog Days of Buffalo hosted the Buffalo Dachshund Club's Meet Up at our facility.  

The theme of the event was "Dachtoberfest". Guests arrived in costume and enjoyed refreshments and socialization for both canines and humans. Over 20 Dachshunds, accompanied by their owners, gathered in our large outdoor play yard on a beautiful fall day to run off some energy and meet new friends. 

Dog Days of Buffalo was pleased to be able to provide a venue for this group to meet. The event was a fundraiser for the Dachshund Rescue of North America.

“Gilda found it unbearably dull to be stuck in the single identity of ‘Gilda Joyce, thirteen-year-old,’ and she often wore costumes just to make life more interesting,” taken from the book, Gilda Joyce Psychic Investigator.  Author Jennifer Allison visits Buffalo’s Crane Library to speak about the creative writing process from story to the printed page and will read from her forthcoming book, Gilda Joyce and The Bones of the Holy.

Parkside Association’s Halloween Party a Safe Place to Trick-or-Treat

PARKSIDE, BUFFALO, NY -- Come all ye goblins, ghosts and ghouls to the Annual Parkside Community Association's Children's Halloween Party on Sunday, October 31 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, at the corner of Jewett Parkway and Summit Avenue in Buffalo.

 The Halloween party offers a safe alternative to "Trick or Treating" for youngsters throughout the city. There will be some freaky fun, creepy candy, and ghoulish games at this ghostly gala! The event is free for children up to 12 years old with a parent or guardian.
