The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, a Western New York tradition featuring more than 35 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local products, is open for the 2012 season. Hours at the open-air market are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. 

Providing musical entertainment on Saturday, Sept. 29, will be David Adamczyk from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. by Adam Giancarlo. Wine-tasting will be courtesy of Liberty Vineyards & Winery.

BUFFALO, NY, September 19, 2012 – A fire or other disaster is often a traumatic experience for those affected. The situation can become even more stressful when those affected by and responding to the emergency have issues communicating with each other, which is often the case for people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Late-Deafened.

Catholic Health Offers Free Vascular Disease & Cancer Screening Event

What: Catholic Health is hosting a free Vascular Disease and Cancer Screening Day on September 22 at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga. Appointments include free screenings for carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), prostate cancer, breast cancer, and thyroid cancer. Participants can also check their risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes with blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose (diabetes) tests and diabetic foot exams.
