TONAWANDA, N.Y. - Chris Collins (R) and Mark Poloncarz (D) faced questions from students at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in their second debate before the November election for Erie County executive.
A panel of students from the Advanced Placement Government class asked the questions. The teacher of the course, Mr. Ted Lina, served as moderator of the debate.
The first debate between these two candidates took place at WNED studios on October 13. In that debate Poloncarz accused Collins of misleading voters on the true financial shape of the county while Collins charged Poloncarz with running a misleading campaign.
A poll by the Siena Institute released on October 10 showed the two candidates to be neck and neck among likely voters in Erie County. The poll, conducted by WGRZ and The Buffalo News, showed Collins with a 49 to 46% lead over his challenger.
Attached are the eight video clips of the debate.
