Kindergarteners Pitch In to Help Buffalo Zoo Polar Bears
BUFFALO, NY - A group of West Seneca kindergarten students did a lot of extra reading with the goal of helping to fund improvements to the polar bear exhibit at the Buffalo Zoo.
The kids from West Seneca East Elementary were inspired after reading an article about the Arctic habitat, home to polar bears Anna and Nanuq.
The three classes got together to organize a read-a-thon and collected $682.35 to benefit the project.
The students turned over the big check to Buffalo Zoo President/CEO Dr. Donna Fernandes Wednesday while on a field trip to the zoo.
