BUFFALO, N.Y.-Timon and St. Joe's will play for the Monsignor Martin lacrosse championship Tuesday evening at Nichols.
In the semifinals Saturday at Nichols St. Joe's just got by Nichols 9-8 while Timon outscored St. Francis 20-to-6.
Senior Christian Curatolo had a hat trick including the game winning goal for the Marauders. Lucas Walsh had a hat trick for Nichols.
Timon led 10-5 at halftime. The Tigers exploded for 10 straight goals in the second half. Josh Recor had a huge day for Timon with five goals and seven assists. Miles DiMillo and Connor Fields each had four goals for Timon. Layne Collins had three and Billy Coppola two as the Tigers roar into Tuesday's title game.
Timon and St. Joe's played twice during the regular season. The Tigers swept the series while outscoring the Marauders 36-4 in those games. Timon beat St. Joe's 18-1 Friday.
Face off is scheduled for 5-pm Tuesday at Nichols.
