BUFFALO, NY - There is finally an agreement in place between the Buffalo School District and its teachers over how teachers will be evaluated about the job they're doing.
The vote by the district's teachers on the evaluation plan was overwhelming, with close to 75% approving it.
The agreement has been months in the making, and is only the first step of many when it comes to teacher evaluations.
"I believe that this collaborative effort will help as we look to secure new teacher and administrator evaluation processes with the BTF and BCSA for the 2012-2013 school year," says Interim Buffalo Schools Superintendent Amber Dixon.
Now that the agreement has been approved, the district will receive over $5 million in School Improvement Grant (SIG) funds to six schools designated Persistently Lowest Achieving (PLA).
