WEST SENECA, N.Y.-For the second straight week a Monsignor Martin League team whipped the Little Irish from Aquinas in Rochester. Canisius beat Aquinas 35-7 Saturday afternoon at the Stransky Complex in West Seneca.
With the win the Crusaders improve to 6-0 on the season. Last week St. Joe's beat Aquinas and that ended the Little Irish's 25 game winning streak against teams from the Monsignor Martin League. Its the first time Aquinas has lost two games in a season since 2006 and the first time two Monsignor Martin League teams ahve beaten Aquinas in the same season since 2005.
For the Crusaders quarterback # 12 Tyler Mascio completed 10 of 12 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns. Kyle Abernanthy had two interceptions and Mike Sharpe led the defense with 12 tackles.
In case you're interested Canisius and St. Joe's play in week nine. After six weeks both teams are unbeaten.
