LOCKPORT, N.Y.-Lockport took the early lead but St. Joe's rallied to beat the Lions Saturday afternoon at Emmet Belknap field in Lockport.

Lockport led 18-7 at halftime as perhaps St. Joe's had a little letdown after last week's huge win over Aquinas. However Lockport played another great game and fell just short in the end.

In the second half St. Joe's had 290 yards of total offense while the Lions only had 70. St. Joe's rushed for 398 yards and totaled 436 yards.

For the Marauders Ilo Noble carried 21 times for 193 yards and one touchdown. Noble's touchdown run was from four yards out.  Junior Rod Payne had another huge game for St. Joe's. He carried 15 times for 115 yards and one touchdown. Payne's 38 yards touchdown run gave St. Joe's the lead for good with six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Defensively junior Tyler Hill had six tackles, one for a loss and one sack. Sophomore Cordell Owens had eight tackles including one for a loss.

For the Lions James Chambers had another fantastic game. Chambers, # 23 carries 20 times for 221 yards and three touchdowns. Chambers had touchdown runs of 48, 13 and 27 yards.

St. Joe's is 6-0 for the first time since the 1998 season, the last time the Marauders were unbeaten.

St. Joe's is at Timon Friday  night.
