Founding Fathers Serves Drinks and History Lessons

Founding Fathers Serves Drinks and History Lessons

Two months into starting Buffalo Eats, I wrote a post about having lunch at Founding Fathers and vaguely mentioned how much I enjoy the bar. The post was brief and over the three years since writing that article, my feelings for this bar have grown. I now consider it one of my favorite bars in the city (on par with the Pink), it’s the bar I chose to drink at the night before my wedding and the first place I took my brother when he turned 21. When I became the mayor on foursquare last month I was genuinely excited.

Brick Oven Bistro & Deli Adds Gluten-free Menu Items

Brick Oven Bistro & Deli Adds Gluten-free Menu Items

Brick Oven Bistro & Deli, located at 904 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, has announced that it is adding several gluten-free items to its menu on Sundays and Mondays. The new menu options will cater to individuals who must adhere to a strict gluten-free diet due to Celiac Disease and other medical conditions.

“While our menu has always included some gluten-free breads and brick oven pizzas, we have several diners who have expressed an interest in more gluten-free options, and we are happy to accommodate their dining needs,” said Chef Andrew Murtha. “Our kitchen has equipment dedicated to our gluten-free menu options, with absolutely no cross-contamination with gluten foods.”

Mike A's Raises the Bar for Fine Dining in Buffalo

I’ve had over 300 meals in Western New York and while several were very good this meal was excellent and convinced me that a change is coming.  What Mike Andrzejewski and Chef Edward Forster have brought to Buffalo is a true fine dining experience that stands alone and will hopefully set the bar for the area’s best restaurants.

FroYo Culture Offers a New Way to Cool Down

FroYo Culture Offers a New Way to Cool Down

Alli and I love frozen yogurt.  Ever since our first tastes of Pinkberry in NYC we have been hooked.  We’ve continued our enjoyment locally with Yogen Fruz, sure it’s not as good (and has gone downhill lately) but it still can hit the spot on a hot day.  Luckily, in the last month Williamsville has seen a couple new local frozen yogurt places pop up, FroYo Culture and Yo Betty.  While running some errands last week, Alli and I decided to stop by FroYo Culture after hearing some good things about the place and I’m glad we did.

The Sweetest Food Truck in Buffalo

The Sweetest Food Truck in Buffalo

This year we’ve seen Buffalo’s Food Truck scene continue to grow and we’ve been trying to keep up, last month we finally made our way to Cheesy Chick and Pizza Amore, and last weekend we hit up The Sweet Hearth.  The Sweet Hearth is different from other Food Trucks in Buffalo as they only offer desserts and they often are paired up with other food trucks for lunch or dinner.  We visited them while they were parked in front of the Darwin Martin house during the Parkside home tour on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon.
