The holiday season is in full swing at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca!

From Dec. 5-7, Enjoy The Journey will be the only suburban gallery taking part in Artists in Buffalo’s 14th annual Holiday Open Studios & Galleries event. The gallery’s “Jingle Mingle” weekend — a unique three-day holiday celebration — will feature live music by Mari McNeil Jazz and a special “Soulful Bowlful” soup sale to benefit the West Seneca Community Food Pantry.

Celebrate ‘Santa Night’ at Dog Ears Bookstore & Café

 

A popular holiday event, “Santa Night” returns to Dog Ears Bookstore & Café from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. The nonprofit community bookstore is located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo.

The annual event will feature crafts, a baked good sale hosted by employees of The Gap, some local authors signing books, a visit from Santa Claus and maybe even a surprise or two! There will also be special discounts offered on books, café items and more.

The new Winter Market on Hertel, housed in The Pasta Peddler/Blackbird Sweets location at 1547 Hertel Ave. in Buffalo, had a great opening day on Saturday, Nov. 22, and returns from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through early April.

Customers are encouraged to celebrate Small Business Saturday at the indoor market this Saturday, Nov. 29. In addition to The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, vendors taking part in the market on a full 20-week schedule include Alpine Made, Biscotti for Everybotti, Prudom Farms, Public Espresso & Coffee and BreadHive Worker Cooperative Bakery. Participating on a 10-week rotating schedule are JJ’s Jams, Plato Dale Farm and Sandy’s Dandies, as well as Chateau Buffalo, Fetch! Dog Treats and T-Meadow Farm.

Dog Ears Bookstore to Host Book-signing Event with Jim Ostrowski

 

Dog Ears Bookstore, located at 688 Abbott Road in Buffalo, will host author Jim Ostrowski for a book-signing event at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.

Ostrowski is a trial and appellate lawyer from Buffalo. His book, “Progressivism: A Primer on the Idea Destroying America,” was released in September.

Several holiday-themed classes and events are planned in the upcoming weeks at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca.

A Colored Pencil Class with artist Cindi O’Mara will offer students an opportunity to  create holiday designs they can then use to design their own holiday cards! Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 4 and 11, and the cost is $40. A supply list for the class can be found on the gallery’s website.

A new indoor farmers’ and food producers’ market will open inside the new 3,000-square-foot home of The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, located at 1547 Hertel Ave., Buffalo, on Saturday, Nov. 22. The 20-week market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through April 4.

The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, two family owned businesses operating side-by-side, will open the doors at their new location at 1547 Hertel Ave., Buffalo, on Tuesday, Sept. 9. A grand opening celebration will be held from Sept. 23-28, with live music on Saturday, Sept. 27, beginning at 2 p.m.

Additionally, the owners also announced that their new 3,000-square-foot location will host the Winter Market on Hertel from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from Nov. 22 through March 28.
